Liverpool and Manchester City could reportedly battle it out for one Fulham midfielder.
Both sides have been busy in the summer transfer market, strengthening their squad ahead of another Premier League battle next season.
Liverpool finished the 2024/25 season 13 points ahead of City, beating them in both Premier League meetings.
However, the Reds know that the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal will look to regroup and mount another title challenge next season.
In light of that, they are moving quickly and boldly in the transfer market. They have already secured the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi and Mamar Mamardashvili (signed last summer).
Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez are also set to join in the coming days, and there is a high chance the Reds will sign a top-quality striker before the summer window closes.
Meanwhile, Manchester City has also spent money on new signings.
They have signed four players, including former Liverpool target Rayan Cherki.
According to the latest report, the Cityzens and Liverpool could now go head-to-head in the battle for one English midfielder.
The SecretScout reports that Manchester City and Liverpool want to sign Fulham midfielder Set Ridgeon for free.
“Understand Liverpool and Man City have been monitoring the situation of Fulham’s highly rated 16-year-old midfielder Seth Ridgeon, as his contract ends this summer,” the report stated.
“The youngster has already played for Fulham’s 21s.
No decision made yet.”
